Why should I make reservations?

A confirmed reservation is made only with payment of the first night's stay. This is because the guest house has experienced a high rate of no shows which means we are holding rooms for people who do not arrive. Also, tuk tuk and taxi drivers sometimes convince guests to stay else where and we are faced with the same problem. Prince Mekong Villa is a very busy accommodation, especially during high season and we donÝt want you to be disappointed. back

How do I arrange pick up?

After you make your confirmed reservation (see above) please email, phone or text message your arrival details such as Bus Company, point of departure, ETA etc. A tuk tuk will be sent with your name on a placard. Look for him when you leave the airport or bus station. This service is included free of charge. back

How far is Prince Mekong Villa from Angkor Wat, downtown Siam Reap and other amenities?

Do you have Internet access ?

We have a Wireless Access Point which covers all the rooms and also the restaurant (around 300 Kbit/s). You can use your own wireless device like PDA or notebook.
Additionally the Prince Mekong Villa has one notebook for common use placed in the restaurant.
You can buy your own wireless-access card for use with you device or you can use the common computer in the restaurant at a charge of USD 0.25/15 Min. back

How many people can fit into one room?

Rooms fit one or two people. There is one room which fits 3 people and a fourth cot can be moved in. Cost is $4 per person for this basic room with private bathroom. back

What are the extras which are included in my reservation and room fee?

Included are breakfast, welcome drink, bicycle rental, daily laundry, and help with tours and maps of Angkor Wat and other destinations to and from Siam Reap. Self serve drinking water to fill up in bottles. Plus friendly service by local people who are well paid and happy to be working for a fair and excellent owner. This compares to staff in foreign run establishments who are poorly paid and have unfair labour practices.
Best of all, you can hang out with Eric who is very knowledgeable about Cambodia and runs PMV to Western standards of cleanliness and efficiency. back

Can you drive to Angkor Wat?

Yes, you can take a taxi into the Angkor Wat Park and right up to the temples. back

How do I find Prince Mekong Villa?

See map on the web site.
Ask any taxi or tuk tuk driver. If they are uncertain, tell them to go to turn just before the Caltex petrol station on the way from the airport. There is a sign on the road. back

How much is transportation from the airport?

There is at present a monopoly on taxis leaving the airport who charge $5 USD. However, if you walk across the street you can get a tuk tuk driver for $2 USD. Beware-the taxi cab drivers and owners will try to convince you not to do this. back

What security does Prince Mekong Guesthouse have?

Prince Mekong Guesthouse has lock up boxes for valuables. Also the gate is constantly monitored and locked at night. There is a night watch man from dark to dawn. back

Dear Guest!

Here are a few guide lines that let us make your stay at Prince Mekong Villa more enjoyable.

Check in and check out

Please give 24 hours notice of check out or another day will be charged.
Check out time is 11 a.m.
Please pay your bill between 5-8 pm the previous day of departure. back

Office hours

Office hours are between 8 am to 12 pm and 5 pm and 8 pm. Management is available at other times for emergencies only. Please settle all accounts during this time. Please do not disturb management outside these times. Tour and Angkor Wat information can be solicited during these times. Please make all arrangements rent bikes, tours etc the day before whenever possible. back

Bike Rentals

Bike rentals and returns should be made during office hours to ensure satisfaction. Bike rentals are included free of charge to paying guests, but guests are responsible for repairs ($1 for typical repairs such as flat tires etc.) and lost or stolen bikes ($45 replacement fee). back

Restaurant

If guest bring their own food or drinks, a cork charge will be calculated (1$ per per person). Guests are welcome to use the self cooking facilities but restricted to dine in the self cooking area only. back

Laundry

Laundry services are included free of charge. Please put your dirty laundry in baskets in the laundry area by 8 am. Clean clothes can be picked up by 6 pm. Management does not take responsibility for any laundry mishaps such as colour leakage, broken buttons etc. Laundry uses cold water only. If guests have delicate fabrics which require special attention, this can be arranged if directions are given. There will be an extra charge for this service. back

Breakfast

Breakfast is included in room fee and is served between 4:30 am (for sunrise tours of the temples) and 10 pm. After this time, there will an extra fee for breakfast. Coffee or tea can be served free of charge in lieu of missed breakfast. back

Ticket Arrangements

Tickets for tours or special cultural events happening in Siam Reap can be bought from management. Please make these arrangements with 24 hour notice when possible.
Please note: reservations are confirmed by prepayment of the first night's accommodations only.
Payment can be made by Pay Pal or any major credit card.
Your receipt is if proof of purchase.
Guests with reservations can be picked up if details of their arrival are communicated in advance by 24 hours. back

Without this Information we can not found the place to pick you up.
This service is included in the first night's reservations.
If you don't have a reservation, management can not hold a room for you.
However you are welcome to arrive without a reservation and management will find you an accommodation, but it may not be exactly what you you are looking for, or accommodation will be found in neighbouring guest houses.
We recommend reservations because Prince Mekong Guesthouse is a very popular guesthouse in Siem Reap and may be fully booked on arrival. back
